Udhampur, Nov 07: Apni Party has expressed serious concern over the unscheduled power curtailment in Udhampur town and its villages across the district.
“The constant electricity cuts have affected normal life in Udhampur town as well as in the villages. The electricity curtailments have increased in an unprecedented manner and the drinking water supply system also seems to have collapsed because of these cuts,” said Apni Party, District President Udhampur, Hans Raj Dogra.
Dogra was speaking at a joining program at Udhampur. In this joining program, over a dozen people i.e., Kuldeep Sharma, Anil Sharma, Ramesh Chander. Parkas Chander, Sunil Dubey, Sudesh Kumar and others were welcomed into the party fold by the District Committee members, the party said in a statement.
While welcoming the new entrants into the party fold, District President Udhampur hoped that their joining would strengthen the party and they would highlight the issues of the general masses.
“The authorities give no heed to the demands and suffering of the people. The people in villages suffer more because of poor basic amenities and poor road infrastructure,” he said.
He said that the road, health and education system has not been improved. “There is a dire need to look into the poor infrastructural development in the district and the promotion of the tourism spots to attract tourists in the unexplored areas that would help in the generation of employment at the local level,” he added.
