Union minister awards NABH accreditation to UT’s 5 Ayush Health & Wellness Centres

Srinagar, Nov 09: Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister for Ayush, Shipping, and Waterways, awarded NABH accreditation to five Ayush Health & Wellness Centres in Jammu and Udhampur Districts, recognizing their outstanding contributions in providing top-quality Ayush Health Care services to the local community. The ceremony took place at a program organized by the Ministry of Ayush, GoI, to celebrate National Ayurveda Day 2023 in Panchkula, Chandigarh, in the presence of Mahendra Bhai Manjupara, Union Minister of State for the Ministry of Ayush and the Ministry of Woman and Child Development.
Dr. Mohan Singh, Director Ayush, J&K, received the NABH accreditation certificates on behalf of the awarded centers, namely, Ayush Health & Wellness Centres Sunjawan, Khandwal, Phallian, Jammu, and Ayush Health & Wellness Centres Dalpad and Jib Udhampur. These centers were commended for their exceptional delivery of Ayush health services, including the distribution of Ayush medicines, wellness and therapeutic yoga sessions, quality of care, efficient human resource utilization, communicable and non-communicable disease prevention, school health checkups, IEC activities, and community health programs. 
During his speech, Sarbananda Sonowal emphasized the importance of bringing Ayurveda to the forefront of healthcare and acknowledged the global recognition of Ayush systems of medicine for their effective and patient-friendly treatment approaches.
Dr. Mohan Singh extended gratitude to Bhupinder Kumar, IAS Secretary to the Govt Health & Medical Education Department, for the significant support provided in promoting the Ayush sector in the UT of J&K. He highlighted the upgrade of 456 Standalone Ayush Dispensaries to AYUSH Health & Wellness Centres under the National Ayush Mission, providing comprehensive primary Ayush health care services, including diagnostics, screening, therapeutic and wellness yoga sessions, and Panchkarma/regimenal therapies. He further mentioned the substantial footfall of patients and beneficiaries, emphasizing the success of various public health outreach programs, such as Anemia Mukt Bharat, Non-Communicable Diseases Mukt Bharat, and the promotion of Millets under the Eat Right Campaign. 
Dr. Singh extended his congratulations to District Ayush officers, Dr. Vanadna Dogra in Jammu and Dr. Surekha Pandita in Udhampur, as well as Dr. Arun Gupta and Dr. Bharti, along with all the staff of the Ayush Health & Wellness Centres, for their dedicated efforts and remarkable achievement.
