Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday hoisted the Tricolour at his residence in the national capital as part of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ ahead of Independence Day.

Meanwhile on the occasion of ‘Partition Horrors Remembrance Day’, the Union Home Minister paid homage to those who lost their lives due to partition.

Taking to social media platform X, Amit Shah wrote, “On Partition Horrors Remembrance Day my homage to the millions who suffered inhumane pains, lost lives, turned homeless during this most hideous episode of our history.

Only a nation that remembers its history can build its future and emerge as a powerful entity. Observing this day is a foundational exercise in the process of nation-building under the leadership of PM Shri @narendramodi Ji.”

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also hoisted a Tiranga at his residence in Lucknow and took a selfie with it, as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.

Earlier on Tuesday, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, and Union Ministers Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, Kiren Rijiju, and Mansukh Mandaviya flagged off a bike rally under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign from Bharat Mandapam in the national capital.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar said that ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ reflects our independence, pride and commitment to Viksit Bharat.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had appealed to the citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes as part of the party’s ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign on the occasion of Independence Day.

In the 112th ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on July 28, Prime Minister Modi called upon all Indians to take part in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign to celebrate Independence Day.

‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ is a campaign undertaken as a part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. It was started in 2021 to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and to hoist it to mark the 75th year of India’s independence.

The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and promote awareness about the Indian National Flag. (ANI)
