• Says terror-free J&K is our sacred pledge
• Calls for heightened vigilance at vital installations across J&K
• Directs swift action against Gagangir terror attack perpetrators

Srinagar, Oct 24: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday directed security agencies to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the soil of Jammu and Kashmir, sources said.
Presiding over a high-level Unified Headquarters (UHQ) meeting, Sinha emphasized the necessity of a robust security grid and seamless inter-agency cooperation.
In light of recent terror attacks in the region, LG Sinha addressed top officials from security forces, intelligence agencies, and state administration, calling for a unified approach to enhance security across the Union Territory. Sources revealed that during the UHQ meeting, he instructed officials to strengthen the security grid and improve inter-agency coordination.
“He directed the top security brass for a comprehensive strategy for anti-terror operations and tasked them with wiping out terrorists and their local networks who are aiding and abetting terrorism,” sources reported.
The meeting included heads of all security agencies, such as Director General of Police J&K Nalin Prabhat, Northern Army Commander M V Suchindera Kumar, and GoC 15 Corps Lt General Prashant Srivastava. Also present were ADGP J&K Vijay Kumar, ADGP Jammu Anand Jain, IGP Kashmir V K Birdi, and officials from the BSF and Intelligence Bureau. Chief Secretary Atal Duloo and Principal Secretary Home participated as well.
LG Sinha specifically instructed security officials to hunt down those responsible for the recent Gagangir terror attack and bring them to justice.
“He said the whole government approach is needed to tackle the menace of terrorism and maintenance of law & order. Round-the-clock surveillance at vital installations is a must to foil nefarious intents and attempts of adversaries,” sources stated.
The sources further said that LG Sinha also directed officials for immediate and effective steps to be taken to dismantle OGW networks and Narco-terror ecosystem.
“It is our duty and top-most priority to ensure a secure, peaceful and stable life for common man. Terror-free Jammu Kashmir is our sacred pledge,” he said.
During the UHQ meeting, various aspects of security, intelligence sharing, and coordination were discussed in detail.
The Lieutenant Governor directed all agencies to enhance their collaborative efforts, ensuring real-time information exchange and coordinated actions against any emerging threats.
He highlighted the need for preparedness and agility in responding to potential security challenges.
The UHQ meeting, chaired by LG Manoj Sinha, was attended by senior officials from the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, paramilitary forces, and intelligence agencies.
On Wednesday, the LG also chaired a security review in Srinagar where top police and officers from the administration participated.
Kashmir has seen a significant spike in violent incidents over the past four weeks.
On October 20, seven people, including a doctor, were killed, and five others injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire on workers affiliated with Apco Infratech in the Gagangeer area.
This attack was followed by another in Tral, where a migrant labourer was injured in a terrorist assault. In a separate incident, terrorists targeted an Army convoy in the Bootapatri area of Gulmarg, North Kashmir.
