Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed optimism about the evolving situation in the Kashmir Valley. He noted that the days of stone pelting and enforced bandh calls are now part of history, allowing people to lead their lives according to their own choices.

During an event held in New Delhi on Sunday, LG Sinha shared significant developments in the rehabilitation scheme for Kashmiri migrants. He revealed that the authorities had granted approval for 6,000 job positions and an equal number of houses for these migrants in Kashmir, divided into two phases.

Remarkably, nearly all of the vacancies have been filled, with only 23 positions yet to be filled, which are expected to be addressed shortly. LG Sinha highlighted that whereas only 665 houses had been constructed previously, the number has now increased to 1,665, with the remaining 1,789 houses scheduled for completion before March of the next year.

He further affirmed that the goal is to have all these houses ready by 2024.
