Srinagar, Nov 01: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday that the construction of a 4-lane project on the Udhampur-Ramban section has been successfully completed. He shared four picturesque images of the highway winding through the hills and along a river.
In his tweet, Gadkari expressed, “In Jammu and Kashmir, we have successfully completed the construction of the Ram Ban Viaduct, a remarkable feat spanning a length of 1.08 kilometers with 26 spans. The project, built at a cost of Rs.328 crores, is situated on the Udhampur-Ramban section of National Highway-44.”
Describing the viaduct, he mentioned, “This extraordinary viaduct is composed of 26 spans and employs a combination of concrete and steel girders in its structural design.”
Gadkari emphasized that this completion significantly enhances transportation connectivity in the Ram Ban Bazaar region, facilitating smoother flow of vehicles and boosting the overall scenic beauty of the area.
Underlining the government’s commitment, Gadkari stated that embracing the visionary leadership of PM Narendra Modi, we remain dedicated to providing Jammu and Kashmir with a superior highway infrastructure. This monumental achievement not only enhances regional economic prosperity but also elevates its status as a premier tourist destination, he said.
