The Geology and Mining Department on Thursday seized two tippers and one tractor that were involved in the illegal mining and transportation of minerals in Magam and Narbal areas in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
An official from the district mineral office in Budgam of the Geology and Mining Department told the Rising Kashmir that the District Mineral Officer Budgam Fayaz Ahmad along with the team conducted surprise raids and roadside naka checkings at different places in the Narbal and Magam areas.
“During this roadside naka checking, two trucks and one tractor were seized after being found without valid e-challans,” official said
He said all the three vehicles have been seized and handed over to Police Post Narbal for retention until their release after realisation of the fine under the relevant sections of law,” he said.
