Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police have seized 02 vehicles and arrested 02 persons in Baramulla.
A Police spokesperson said that Police party under the supervision of SDPO Pattan assisted by In-charge PP Mirgund, seized 2 vehicles (tippers) and arrested 02 drivers identified as Showkat Ahmad Sheikh son of Mohammad Sideeq resident of Pattan & Bilal Ahmad Wani son of Ab Satar resident of Hanjiwera Pattan at Khanpeth Mirgund Pattan for their involvement in illegal extraction & transportation of minerals.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Pattan and investigation has been initiated.
Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt with as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
