Kargil, Jan 29: Two girls were buried alive after a massive avalanche hit Tangole Village in Kargil district on Sunday, officials revealed.
Deputy Commissioner Kargil Santosh Sukhdeve told Rising Kashmir that after receiving the information of Snow Avalanche from Tangole Village, Local administration Police,UTDRF, Mechanical Division Kargil reached the spot and launched a massive rescue operation. He said after hectic efforts the bodies of Two girls recovered from the snow.
He said that district administration Kargil will provide immediate relief to the families of slain girls who lost their lives in the avalanche.
CEO LAHDC Kargil Feroz Khan and other leaders expressed his condolences to the family of the victims and prayed for the eternal peace of the deceased
Meanwhile Councillor of Tai Suru, Syed AbassRazvi and Councillor Parkachik Haji Ghulam Mohammad Thanked CEC LAHDC Kargil, DC Kargil, SSP Kargil, Mechanical Division Kargil, Youths of Tangole and Adjoining Areas and Baseej E Baqiyatullah ASZ for immediate response and rescue after the unfortunate avalanche.
It is pertinent to mention here that Meteorology Department Ladakh had recently issued avalanche warnings after the recent snowfall and asked people to avoid unnecessary wandering in avalanche prone areas.
Meanwhile the met department has predicted another spell of Snowfall on January 30.
