Acting tough against social crimes, Police have arrested 02 gamblers and seized stake money from their possession in Khrew area of South Kashmir.
A Police spokesperson said that acting on specific information about gambling activities in Khar Check Shar Shali Khrew , a police party of Police Station Khrew headed by SHO PS Khrew Inspector Manzoor Ahmad under the supervision of SDPO Pampore Shri Imtiyaz Ahmad-JKPS raided the specific site and arrested 02 gamblers on the spot.
They have been identified as Tawseef Ahmed wani s/o Gh Nabi wani @ Seepa R/o Ladhoo and Bilal Nazir Bhat @Veerapan S/o Nazir Ahmed Bhat R/o shar shali
Police have seized stake money of ₹20,100/- and playing cards from the gamblers. They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 27/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Khrew and investigation has been taken up.
