Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday said that they have arrested two gamblers at forest Hut near BabaReshi area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district. A Spokesperson said that Police party of Police Post Babareshi on a specific information regarding presence of gamblers near *Forest Hut Babareshi Crossing who were being involved in gambling.
“Acting upon the information Police Party of Police Post Babareshi led by PSI Shoaib Mohammad IC PP Babareshi rushed towards and on noticing the police party they tried to flee from the spot but the alert police party chased them and we’re apprehended tactfully”, he said.
The arrested gamblers were identified as Showkat Ahmad Lone S/O Mohd Akbar Lone R/O Qazipora & Shabir Ahmad Dar S/O Ali Mohd Dar R/O Pandithpora Bala Tangmarg.Playing cards alongwith stake money of Rs 10570/ were recovered from them.
He said that Case under sections of 13 Gambling Act registered in Police Station Tangmarg and investigation taken up.
