Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police on Thursday arrested 02 drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
A Police spokesperson said that during naka checking at Sugen crossing, police party of police station Khag intercepted 02 persons carrying polythene bags, upon noticing the presence of police party they tried to flee from the spot but police party chased them and apprehended them tactfully. During their search, police party recovered charas like substance weighing 270 grams concealed in polythene bags from their possession.
“They have been arrested on spot & subsequently identified as Imtiaz Ahmad Bhat S/o Gh Qadir Bhat R/o Hardu Achlo Tangmarg and Mohammad Amir Bhat S/o Gh Qadir bhat R/o Sugen”, he said.
He said that Case FIR number 14/2023*under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Khag and investigation taken up.
