Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Budgam Police have arrested 02 drug peddlers and recovered psychotropic substance from their possession.
A Police spokesperson said, During Naka checking at Hyderpora Bypass Near flyover one vehicle Swift Bearing registration No JK01T-5282 was intercepted with 02 persons onboard. When police party signalled them to stop the driver tried to flee from the spot, but police party chased them and apprehended them tactfully. On checking of the said vehicle, controlled drug 24 Bottles of LARKOF-C(100ml each) apparently (Codine Phosphate) was recovered from the said vehicle, two persons were arrested on spot and vehicle used for commission of crime has also been seized.
“The arrested persons were subsequently identified as Saleem Yousf S/O Mohammad Yousf Dar R/O Syed Hyder Colony Hyderpora Srinagar and Fazil Iqbal S/O Mohammad Iqbal Wani R/O Hyderpora”, he said.
Police said that Case FIR number 113/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation taken up.
