Budgam, June13: In a significant crackdown on illegal clay extraction, the Jammu and Kashmir Police apprehended two drivers and impounded two tippers involved in the transportation of unlawfully extracted clay in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
According to officials, the Police Post Humhama, during routine patrolling in Tawheed Abad Humhama, intercepted two tippers with registration numbers JK21-4641 and JK19-1952, which were found to be carrying the illegally obtained clay.
Upon discovery, the tippers were immediately seized at the scene, and the two drivers operating them were promptly taken into custody. The arrested individuals have been identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, son of Ali Mohd Khan, a resident of Sheikhpora Budgam, and Rayees Ahmad Mir, son of Gulzar Ahmad Mir, hailing from Ompora Budgam.
An official statement revealed that a case has been registered at Police Station Budgam under FIR number 155/2023, invoking relevant sections of the law. An extensive investigation into the matter is currently underway.
