Ramban, Jan 10: Two bodies were recovered on Friday afternoon from a deep gorge at Battery Chashma along the Ramban National Highway, where a truck met with an accident.
Rohit Baskotra, SSP Traffic, NHW, Ramban, told Rising Kashmir that the police received information about the accident on Thursday around 10:30 am, following which a rescue operation was launched immediately.
He said that the gorge was steep, and by Friday afternoon, two bodies had been retrieved from the accident site.
The SSP added that the relatives of the deceased have arrived for identification.
Meanwhile, an official said the deceased have been identified as Danish Ahmed Khan (25) and Yasir Imtiyaz Khan (15), both sons of Imtiyaz Ahmed Khan and residents of Chijhama, Baramulla.
Further investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
