Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday have recovered 18 CFt illicit timber and arrested two persons involved in cutting down of forest timber at Zamboor Pattan area of Uri in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A spokesperson said, Baramulla Police under the supervision of Shokat Ali-JKPS, SDPO Uri assisted by Inspr Imtiyaz Ahmad , SHO PS Uri arrested two persons namely Mumtaz Hussain S/O Khaki Shah R/O Zamboor Pattan Uri & Syed Abass Hussain S/O Syed Muzaffar Hussain R/O Choolan Uri who are being involved in cutting down illicit forest timber and were selling at higher rates.
“Illicit forest timber measuring about 18 CFt were recovered from their possession in Zamboor Pattan Uri”, he said.
Police said that case under sections of Indian Forest Act registered in Police Station Uri and investigation set in motion.
