Budgam, Feb 15: Police on Wednesday said it arrested two persons for illegally selling kerosene oil in the Beerwah area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
An official from Police Station Beerwah told Rising Kashmir that they received information about some unknown persons at Ganai Mohalla, Beerwah who were illegally procuring kerosene oil from illicit channels and were selling this to a person Mushtaq Ahmad Ganai of the same area, at his residence.
“After receiving information, a police party along with Executive Magistrate raided the specific spot and seized a Tata-mobile vehicle bearing registration number JK04E-5086 loaded with three barrels containing approximately 300 litres of illegally procured kerosene oil from the residence of Mushtaq Ahmad Ganie,” the official said.
He said the driver of the seized vehicle Mushtaq Ahmad Wani, a resident of Lawarmunda, Qazigund, along with the accused Mushtaq Ahmad Ganie was arrested on the spot.
In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 26/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Beerwah and the investigation has been started, he said.
