Two accused involved in kidnapping of minor girls held in Baramulla: Police

Baramulla Police on Monday arrested 2 accuseds involved in kidnapping of minor girls.The victims were safely handed over to their legal heirs after completing all necessary legal formalities, and the accused are currently in police custody.

A police spokesman said on May 1st, 2023, Abdul Rehman Beigh s/o Abdul Rahim Beigh approached police station Sheeri and lodged a complaint alleging that his two daughters ( identity withheld) aged 14 and 15 years, were kidnapped by Mohd Aqib Dar and Rayees Ahmad Lone, both residents of Pehliharan. On this information, PS Sheeri registered a case under FIR No. 38/2023 u/s 363, 376, 506 IPC.

The police acting promptly arrested both the accused and rescued the minor girls. The victims were safely handed over to their legal heirs after completing all necessary legal formalities, and the accused are currently in police custody.

Baramulla Police has expressed its strong commitment to ensure that the accused face the full extent of the law for their heinous acts. They are conducting further investigations into the case to ensure that justice is served.

“We urge citizens to remain vigilant and report any such incidents to the police promptly to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

Baramulla Police have demonstrated their unwavering commitment to protecting citizens and bringing the guilty to justice.
