Trout fish, fresh vegetables remain available on Herath at Kupwara

On the eve of Maha Shivratri, commonly known as Herath in local language, Fisheries Department Kupwara has established Trout Fish Sale centres at Kupwara, Handwara, Langate, Tangdhar and other parts of the district.

 

According to Assistant Director Fisheries, Kupwara, Sajad Hussain as many as 350 kilogram Trout Fish has been sold at various sale outlets in the district at the rate of Rupees 500 per kg. He said apart from these sale outlets, private Fish Farms also provided Fish in different markets at the same rate, besides mobile sale of the Trout Fish.

 

He said Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Dr.Doifode Sagar Dattatray had already passed directions for the same and there was satisfactory sale of Trout Fish on the Occasion of Herath in the district.

 

AD Fisheries, during market checking at Kupwara, has also realized a fine of Rs.2500 from irring fish vendors at Kupwara for keeping unhygienic fish in the market.

 

Meanwhile, following the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Chief Agriculture Officer Kupwara, Ghulam Mohammad has arranged sale of fresh vegetables through mobile vans at Tikker Asthapan and also at Migrant Pandit Coloney, Nutnussa.

 

The people of the district, especially Hindu brethren have appreciated the best efforts of district administration Kupwara.
