Ganderbal, Jan 28: Responding to adverse road conditions triggered by snowfall and frost, authorities in Ganderbal have taken decisive measures to safeguard travellers on the Gagangeer to Sonamarg route.
Effective immediately, a critical order has been issued, allowing only vehicles equipped with anti-skid chains and 4×4 capabilities to navigate this challenging terrain.
According to an order in view of the slippery road condition due to snow fall and frost
on road surface, it is hereby ordered that only vehicles fitted with anti-skid chains and 4×4 vehicles shall be allowed to travel from Gagangeer to Sonamarg and vice versa.
The imposition of these travel restrictions aims to enhance overall safety and reduce potential risks associated with the slippery road surface.
This order will remain in force until further notice, indicating a commitment to maintaining a secure travel environment amid the unpredictable weather conditions.
