Baramulla, Sept 30:A two-day training programme for farmers of Baramulla district, themed “Technology Intervention for Sustainable Farming and Soil Health Management,” under HADP project 19 On Soil and Land Resource Information System, concluded successfully at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Baramulla on 30th September 2025.
According to a statement issued here, the programme began with a welcome address by Dr. Wasim Hassan Raja, Programme Coordinator and Head, KVK Baramulla. This was followed by an introductory briefing by Dr. Shabir Ahmed Bangroo, Senior Scientist and Principal Investigator of the project, who elaborated on the objectives of the event.
Dr. J. I. Mir, Principal Scientist, ICAR-CITH Srinagar, underlined the importance of strengthening farmers’ knowledge and practices, while Ms. Mubeena Akhtar, Vice President BJP, lauded the achievements of KVK Baramulla and assured her support in overcoming challenges faced by the centre. Dr. M. K. Verma, Director, ICAR-CITH Srinagar, appreciated the joint efforts of CITH and KVK Baramulla in organising the event, stressing the crucial role of such trainings in empowering the farming community.
All dignitaries were felicitated with bouquets as a mark of respect and appreciation.
On the first day, technical lectures were delivered by Dr. Shaista (Assistant Professor, Soil Science, SKUAST-K), Shahid (Young Professional, HADP), and Dr. Shoaib Nissar Kirmani (SMS Horticulture, KVK Baramulla). The sessions attracted enthusiastic participation from more than 50 attendees, including farmers, representatives of line departments, Krishi Sakhis, and Pashu Sakhis under NRLM.
