Jammu, Dec 15: The School of Business at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) inaugurated a three-day training program titled “Embracing Behavioural Skills for Workplace Effectiveness for Shrine Board employee commenced with fanfare.
A statement said that Prof. Jyoti Sharma welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of the program in fostering workplace harmony and enhancing professional capabilities. “The first session, conducted by Prof. Suparn Sharma focused on emotional intelligence. Dr. Shazia Bukhari conducted sessions on attitude and interpersonal skills, while Sumanta Sarthi Sharma provided valuable insights into mindful self-regulation,” the statement said. “Dr. Arti Maini will discuss the significance of effective listening and life positions in shaping workplace behaviour. Further sessions include exercises on behavioural harmony and the importance of gratitude at the workplace, facilitated by Dr. Rashi Taggar. Dr. Jyoti Sharma will address resilience building as a crucial component of behavioural skills.”
The statement said that the program also features contributions from external experts including Prof. Manoj Aggarwal from IIT-Jammu, who will elaborate on strategies to avoid and manage conflicts in the workplace and Ajay Khajuria, who will highlight the role of constructive criticism in enhancing behavioural skills. “Planned and coordinated by the faculty members of the School of Business under the guidance of Hon’ble Vice- Chancellor, Prof. Pragati Kumar, this initiative aims to develop critical skills among executives, reaffirming SMVDU’s commitment to professional excellence,” the statement said.
