Training course of veterinary students concludes at Army Veterinary Hospital

Srinagar, Mar 21: The first batch of current internship students of Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, SKUAST-Kashmir complete their rotational internship training at Army’s Vet Hospital, Srinagar.
The training course focuses on upgrading skills of students in care, management, and treatment of Equines (Horses) under supervision of specialists at 54Advanced Field Veterinary Hospital, Sgr.
The event of culmination of training programme was merged with commencement of the training program for second batch of FVSc& AH, internship students for the same course being held at Army Vet Hospital at Haft Chinar Srinagar. The event was honored by the presence of Major General PBS Lamba, VSM, GOC, 31 Sub Area, who addressed the students alongside Prof. M.T. Banday, Dean of the FVSc&AH , SKUAST-K and other esteemed officers of the Indian Army. 
Major General Lamba, with his vast experience in the Remount Veterinary Corps, emphasized the importance of leveraging expert guidance to acquire new techniques and best practices in equine care.  He expressed his willing for the provision of holistic learning experience with emphasis on importance of interdisciplinary cooperation in Veterinary Education and practice. Prof. MT Banday, commended the students for their enthusiasm and dedication, urging them to make the most of this invaluable learning opportunity. 
Prof. Banday hoped the training would lead to nurturing of skilled veterinary professionals capable of addressing the evolving challenges in animal healthcare, particularly in the equine sector.He further highlighted role of collaboration between SKUAST Kashmir and the Indian Army’s 54 Advanced Field Veterinary Hospital that underscores a shared commitment to advancing Veterinary Education and enhancing the well-being of animals.
