Baramulla, Nov 26: In a robust crackdown on traffic violators, the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) in Baramulla suspended the driving licenses of 15 motorists in the last seven days.
The enforcement drives aimed at curbing rash and negligent driving also led to show cause notices issued to 32 individuals for potential driving license and route permit suspensions. Additionally, 65 commercial vehicles with expired fitness certificates faced blacklisting.
Muazzam Ali, ARTO Baramulla, emphasized the importance of motorists adhering to basic traffic rules for their safety and the safety of others on the road. He said the initiative focuses on instilling discipline among drivers in the district.
