NEET candidates’ admit cards to serve as passes: SSP Traffic
Srinagar, May 01: Authorities have issued a traffic route plan for Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha-led foot march (Padyatra) scheduled for Sunday, anticipating a massive gathering. Special arrangements have been made for NEET aspirants to ensure hassle-free movement to their examination centres.
SSP Traffic Srinagar City, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, said the rally will be flagged off by the LG from the synthetic turf football ground in front of Radio Kashmir and will proceed up to the Clock Tower (Ganta Ghar), with the LG personally walking along with participants. People from all walks of life are scheduled to participate.
Route plan and parking arrangements
Vehicles from South: Will be permitted to enter via Rajbagh and proceed as far as Gindun Park (designated parking slot). Passengers will de-board and use the footbridge to cross to the venue side. No vehicle shall be permitted to park on the road along the embankment. Identified parking slots include Gindun Park, Cluster University, Indoor Stadium, and other available parking spaces.
Vehicles from North: Will take a right turn at Jahangir Chowk-LD Hospital-Jawahar Nagar. Significant vehicular traffic will not be permitted on the stretch between LD Hospital and Abdullah Bridge during the event. Participants will take the Jawahar Nagar route and park vehicles in designated parking spaces up to Rajbagh.
Vehicles from Ganderbal: Parking arrangements have been made at SP College. Vehicles will be allowed to proceed as far as Sangarmal, and the rear gate of SP College ground will be opened for parking.
Special arrangements for NEET aspirants
The SSP said NEET examination is scheduled on the same day, and aspirants may arrive at centres even before the official reporting time. "We have made special arrangements. Our entire staff has been instructed to accept candidates' Admit Cards as valid passes, allowing them access to their respective examination centres. We have issued specific directives to ensure these students face absolutely no inconvenience and are granted smooth passage," he said.
Parents of aspirants have been advised not to park their vehicles on MA Road and instead utilise the rear ground of SP College for parking purposes. The advisory shall remain in effect from 7:00 AM, and restrictions will be lifted once the event concludes.
