Ganderbal, Sep 16: In a significant development, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) apprehended a traffic cop, Muhammad Ayoub on Saturday in Sonamarg area in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 9,000 from a Driver.
Officials said that they conducted a surprise raid on the traffic police post in Sonamarg. During the operation, they caught Selection Grade Constable identified as Muhammad Ayoub red-handed as he allegedly accepted the bribe from an unidentified individual.
An official said that the investigation into this incident is going on, the cop has been suspended and further details surrounding the case are expected to emerge as it progresses.
