Srinagar, May 13: Severe traffic congestion on the Natipora road stretch in Srinagar has become a major concern for commuters and residents, with locals alleging that traffic mismanagement is affecting emergency response services and public safety.

Residents said the road witnesses massive traffic jams daily, causing long delays for commuters and creating difficulties for ambulances and Fire & Emergency Services during emergencies.

Locals recalled that during a recent fire incident, emergency vehicles reportedly struggled to reach the affected area due to heavy congestion, resulting in delays in response time.

People in the area expressed concern over the lack of action despite repeated complaints and worsening traffic conditions.

Residents have urged the authorities to take immediate measures including better traffic management, removal of encroachments, deployment of additional traffic personnel and widening of the road to ease congestion and prevent accidents or delays during emergencies.

They said the issue is no longer limited to inconvenience but has become a matter of public safety and emergency preparedness.
