Srinagar, July 14: The Srinagar Traffic Police Office has issued a traffic advisory for the 8th Muharram-ul-Haram procession scheduled to be held on July 15, 2024.
The procession will commence from Guru Bazar and proceed to Dalgate Srinagar, affecting traffic movement on M.A. Road and adjacent areas.
To ensure smooth traffic flow and convenience for the public and motorists, the following traffic arrangements have been made. No Movement of Traffic From Karan Nagar towards JehangirChowk via ShaheedGunj/Tankipora from 5:00 AM to 8:00 AM. From Jahangir Chowk-MA Road to Dalgate-Badyari stretch from 5:00 AM till the culmination of the procession.
An advisory is issued by Muzaffar Ahmad Shah, Sr. Superintendent of Police, Traffic City Srinagar states, Traffic from Batmaloo, Secretariat, and Rambagh towards M.A. Road will be diverted towards Residency Road via Hari Singh High Street from 5:00 AM till the end of the procession. Traffic from Rainawari-Nowpora will be diverted at Mamta Hotel towards SRTC Bridge, Barbarshah-KralKhud-HabbaKadal-Karan Nagar.
Similarly, Traffic from Khanyar-IkhwanChowk will be diverted at SRTC Bridge towards Barbarshah-KralKhud-HabbaKadal-Karan Nagar. Motorists from Nishat Shalimar and adjacent areas will use Boulevard-Gupkar Road-Radio Kashmir-R.R. Road/Abdullah Bridge for onward journey from 5:00 AM till the end of the procession. Traffic from PanthaChowk-Sonwar will be diverted at Radio Kashmir via Residency Road and Abdullah Bridge for the onward journey.
Tourist and Local Traffic, Tourists and locals from Nehru Park and adjacent areas will use Nehru Park, Gupkar Road, or Nishat – Fore Shore Road.
Public Advisory, The general public is requested to avoid unnecessary movement from Karan Nagar towards Dalgate via M.A. Road during the procession to prevent inconvenience.
