Srinagar, Jan 03: Taking a dig at the traditional political parties for their “deceptive politics and misleading narratives”, Apni Party Provincial President Mohammad Ashraf Mir on Wednesday said the conventional parties always kept people busy with “fake promises and misleading narratives” to attain power.
Addressing a block-level public convention in the Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, Mir vowed that the Apni Party has both the will and potential to bring people out of the miseries that they are in due to the years of misleading politics by the traditional parties.
He said, “In 1947, the then leaders had taken a decision for the future of Jammu and Kashmir. They had chosen India for the accession. However, later, the traditional parties started misleading people through emotional sloganeering and unattainable narratives. As a result, we suffered huge losses in terms of deaths and destruction on this land over the years, especially during the past more than 30 years.”
He said that the Apni Party has emerged as an alternative that can bring about positive change on the ground. “There are a number of experienced politicians and visionary leaders in the Apni Party who have both the will and potential to change the scenario for the better,” he said.
Ashraf Mir urged the people not to fall prey to the “deceptive” slogans of the traditional parties anymore. He advised people to use their vote wisely to choose the representatives who will be accountable to them.
The people of Jammu and Kashmir have also been suffering due to the infrastructural development here, the Apni Party leader said, adding, “Unlike the rest of the parts in India, Jammu and Kashmir lacks development and prosperity only because our leaders kept us busy with violence and negative politics over the decades.”
“I assure you that when Apni Party when gets a public mandate to serve, it will focus on ensuring permanent peace, prosperity, and development in Jammu and Kashmir, as these things will eventually bring economic and political empowerment to the people,” he said.
The prominent party leaders who were present at the venue included Provincial Secretary Umer Jaan, Provincial President for the party’s Youth Wing and spokesperson Khalid Rathore, Provincial Secretary and DDC Aripal Manzoor Ahmad Ganai Chairman BDC Mir Altaf, Senior Leaders Dr Tajalah Majeed, Senior Leader Farooq Malik, Daisy Raina, and others.
