Srinagar, Apr 27: After the tragic terrorist attack, Pahalgam, once bustling with tourists, had witnessed a dip in visitors. The streets of Pahalgam, which typically hosted 5,000 to 7,000 tourists daily, were eerily quiet in the days following the attack. However, in a heartening turn of events, tourists have started to return, and the locals couldn’t be happier to see the town coming back to life.

In recent days, foreign and domestic visitors have once again begun to stroll through the scenic streets of Pahalgam. The sight of tourists exploring the town once more has brought a renewed sense of hope to the locals, who have long been known for their hospitality. The return of travellers marks a new step in the town’s recovery from the tragedy.

Among those who returned were Rahul and Amrita tourists who shared their admiration for Kashmir’s unmatched beauty and its warm, welcoming people.

Rahul, a Croatian visitor, expressed, “Despite hearing about the incident, we felt completely safe here. The people are incredibly kind, and the beauty of Kashmir is beyond what we expected. We’re very happy to be here and are enjoying every moment.”

Another Croatian tourist, who has visited Kashmir multiple times, said, “Kashmir is always my top destination. The people here are so warm, and I’ve never felt unsafe. My group is experiencing Kashmir for the first time, and they’re absolutely loving it.”

The locals are equally thrilled to see visitors return, especially after such a trying time. They have been showing their strength by coming together, with many local businesses resuming regular operations and offering a sense of normalcy. The town has also witnessed a local march where residents proudly carried the national flag, standing united against terror.

Tourists like Mohammad Ibrahim from Surat, Gujarat, also shared their thoughts on the return of tourism to Pahalgam. He said, “At first, we were worried after hearing the news, but the support from the local people and the army made us feel comfortable. We are happy to be here, and everything feels normal now. Pahalgam is as beautiful as always.”

The people of Pahalgam have shown incredible resilience in the face of adversity, and their welcoming spirit has helped restore the town’s charm. As tourists continue to return, the town’s recovery is becoming more visible, proving that the spirit of Kashmir remains unbroken.
