Srinagar, May 16: Tourist stakeholders in the Valley are hoping that the impending G20 working group conference in Srinagar would pave the way for European Union nations and the US to eliminate Jammu and Kashmir-specific travel advisories, which will provide a significant boost to the tourist sector.
A considerable number of international visitors, even those from countries with unfavourable travel advice, are visiting Kashmir and believe it is completely secure.
There are advisories in place from various countries across the globe, which unfortunately have been in place since the 1990s. There has been a great transformation as far as the overall situation in Kashmir is concerned. It’s very peaceful now and there have been certain instances where European countries have been discussing lifting these travel advisories, Syed Abid Rashid, secretary of Tourismsaid.
The stakeholders in the tourism industry believe that  success of G-20 event demonstrates the region’s drive to a healthy and inclusive environment that fosters a deeper appreciation for the arts and cultural diversity.
The events will continue in the valley while  G-20 festivities unfold over the following two weeks. The  artists  across the valley are all set to with their awe-inspiring performances, generating experiences that will be treasured for a lifetime.
Syed Abid Rashid, secretary of Tourism on Tuesday expressed his gratitude for the positive response and said that these cultural activities, which exhibit Kashmir’s rich diversity to the world, will continue to captivate audiences for the next two weeks.
The stakeholders expect that Kashmir’s cultural legacy will shine brightly on the global stage, leaving an unforgettable impression on the hearts and thoughts of all those who have had the honour of witnessing its grandeur.
The G-20-related events in the scenic valley of Kashmir are witnessing a phenomenal turnout of enthusiastic public participation.
The Secretary of Tourism stressed upon the importance of the cultural activities, saying that they provide a wonderful chance for Kashmir’s incredibly talented artists.  He urged  them to embrace the opportunity and contact the cultural academy in order to play against the backdrop of the G-20 meeting, currently  taking place in Kashmir.
“This one-of-a-kind platform will allow our great artists to not only demonstrate their exceptional abilities, but also to leave a lasting impression on the international stage”, he said.
Mir Tajamul, an artist, expressed his joy and gratitude for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Tajamul, who has already played at two G-20-related events, expressed his excitement, saying it left him with an amazing emotion. Tajamul believes that this historic event has provided opportunities for artists from around the valley to flourish and earn well-deserved recognition for their extraordinary talents.
The perspective of the G-20 has been a driving force in showcasing Kashmir’s varied culture and heritage. These activities are expected to not only promote the region’s diversity, but also give local artists a platform to display their work.
The  performances  during the events have piqued the interest of both local and foreign audiences. The G-20 summit is expected to promote tourism in Jammu and Kashmir, with the hope that visitors from all over the world will flock to watch the cultural spectacle. (With inputs from PTI)
