Ganderbal, OCT 20 Minister of State for Home Affairs in the Government of India, Nityanand Rai, expressed his optimism about the positive developments in the Kashmir region since the abrogation of Article 370.
Rai made these remarks during a media interaction in the Wayil area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district while visiting the Hope Disability Center (DDRC), where he noted a remarkable surge in tourist footfall.
Rai said, “The number of tourists visiting Kashmir is increasing every day. This newfound enthusiasm for tourism and development is a direct result of the abrogation of Article 370.” He highlighted the growing embrace of growth and prosperity by the people of Kashmir.
The minister also emphasised the robustness of the nation’s borders and assured that the country is well-prepared to counter any potential threats.
During his visit to Gulmarg, Rai expressed his pleasant surprise at witnessing a daily influx of 3000 to 4000 tourists, a development he believes is particularly benefiting the local population, especially those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Rai credited the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for the rapid development in Jammu and Kashmir. He further assured that significant infrastructure improvements, including the establishment of large hospitals, are on the horizon for the region. These promising developments indicate a bright future for the growth of Kashmir’s development and tourism sector.
During visit to Mansbal Ganderbal, Rai inaugurated several important developmental projects, signifying a substantial step forward in the region’s progress and growth.
Meanwhile, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai visited the forward areas of Kashmir on Friday and interacted with the BSF troops deployed along the Line of Control (LoC).
” MoS (Home) Nityanand Rai of GOI visited the forward areas of #Srinagar and interacted with @BSF_Kashmir troops deployed at #LoC,” BSF Kashmir said in a post on X.
The BSF said the MoS Home applauded the unwavering dedication and professionalism of the troops in safeguarding the nation’s borders.
