Srinagar, Jan 25: Directorate of Tourism in Kashmir marked National Tourism Day on Thursday with a fervour that resonated through destinations like Pahalgam, Gulmarg, Sonamarg, and Yousmarg.
With the aim to underscore the importance of nature conservation and sustainable tourism, the day witnessed cleanliness drives and awareness programs engaging tourism stakeholders and the public alike.
In a notable move to promote gender inclusivity, the Directorate of Tourism Kashmir unveiled a pioneering training module tailored exclusively for female tourist guides.
The initiative, launched on this special occasion, aims to empower women in the tourism sector, fostering a more inclusive and diverse industry.
As part of the celebration, a captivating photo exhibition was hosted at TRC, Srinagar, capturing the essence of Kashmir’s breathtaking landscapes and cultural richness. This event not only showcased the region’s allure but also served as a platform for fostering community engagement and promoting responsible tourism practices.
To kickstart this gender-inclusive initiative, the Directorate of Tourism plans to train and certify 100 female tourist guides in the initial phase.
