Ganderbal, Feb 08: Taking strong cognizance of the illegal constructions along the Sindh Nallah of Ganderbal district, the Sub Divisional Administration in Kangan has initiated decisive measures to stop the construction. Directives have been issued to the Irrigation and Flood Control (I &FC) department to furnish weekly reports on the progress made in tackling this issue.
An official order issued in this regard reads “you are hereby requested to submit the report of illegal construction on the bank of Sindh Nallah that contravenes to the court order in PIL No 404 of 2022 Dated: 23-10-2023 on every Monday forthwith.”
Pertinent to mention here, the High Court has completely banned any sort of construction within 100mts from the Bank of Sindh Nallah via the above mentioned PIL No as such the structures erected within 100mts from the Bank of Sindh Nallah after issuance of Court Order are treated as illegal, the order reads.
This proactive approach underscores the commitment of local authorities to uphold legal frameworks and safeguard environmental integrity.
