Srinagar, March 28: A topper from Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (MME) department among 57 students of National Institute Technology (NIT) Srinagar have qualified GATE exam 2023 (Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering) of which results were declared on Thursday, March 16.
Ashutosh Kumar Yadav, a B.Tech student from the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (MME) Department has secured 85.67 percentile and bagged AIR-1 in Metallurgical Engineering.
Similarly Aditya Nath from Mechanical Engineering Department has also secured AIR-47 in Mechanical Engineering.
The figures include16 students of Civil Engineering, 13 in Mechanical Engineering, 7 in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department, 6 in Electrical Engineering, 6 in Chemical Engineering Department, 5 from Electronics & Communication Engineering and 2 from Computer Science & Engineering respectively.
Director NIT Srinagar, Prof. (Dr). Rakesh Sehgal congratulated the topper from MME department and other students for cracking the prestigious GATE exam. The hard work, dedication, and perseverance of students have paid off, he said.

He said NIT Srinagar has created an environment that fosters academic excellence by providing adequate resources, faculty support, and opportunities to students to learn and grow. Both research scholars and students should also prioritize their education to achieve academic excellence, Prof. Seghal said.

greetings to GATE qualifiers and urged them to work hard to achieve success.
On Mar 16, The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur declared results of GATE 2023. Around 6.70 lakh students registered for GATE 2023 out of which about 5.17 lakh appeared for the exam. Of them, around one lakh candidates qualified the GATE 2023. The pass percentage was nearly 18 per cent.
The exams were held in over 500 centres across the country and the overall attendance was 77 per cent. GATE 2023 was conducted in 29 subjects and candidates had the choice of selecting two papers in some subjects. The Metallurgical engineering paper recorded the highest qualified percentage of this year i.e., 25 per cent.
