Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday said that they have arrested three smugglers for being involved in cutting down of forest timber at Namba Uri in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A Police spokesperson said, “Baramulla Police under the supervision of Shokat Ali-JKPS, SDPO Uri assisted by Inspr Imtiyaz Ahmad, SHO PS Uri arrested three smugglers namely Ali Mohd S/O Ab Aziz, Farooq Ahmad S/O Ab Hameed Mir & Gh Mohd Bhat S/O Mangi Bhat all residents of Nambla A Uri who are being involved in cutting down illicit forest timber and were selling at higher rates. Illicit forest timber measuring about 35 CFt were recovered from their possession in Nambla Uri.”
“Case under sections of Indian Forest Act registered in Police Station Uri and investigation set in motion”, he said.
