Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday arrested three gamblers and seized stake money of Rs 68,460 in Janbazpora area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A Police spokesperson said, “Police party of Police Station Baramulla on a specific information regarding presence of gamblers in Janbazpora Baramulla. Acting upon the information police party rushed towards the spot.On seeing the police party they tried to flee from the spot but we’re apprehended tactfully.”
“The arrested gamblers were identified as Shafeeq Ahmad Sheikh S/O Gh Mohd Sheikh R/O Fatehgarh, Bilal Ahmad Mir S/O Ab Gani R/O Janbazpora & Ab Qayoom Gariyal S/O Gh Mohi ud Din R/O Khanpora.Playing cards alongwith stake money of Rs 68,460/ were recovered from them”, he said.
Police said that Case under sections of 13 Gambling Act registered in Police Station Baramulla and investigation taken up.
