Jammu, Apr 21: In a significant operation, security forces in the Jammu region achieved a major breakthrough today by uncovering a terrorist hideout in the Rajouri District. The joint operation conducted by the Army and Police in Village Azmatabad, Thannamandi area of Rajouri led to the discovery.
Officials reported the recovery of eight Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), two wireless sets, and a quantity of ammunition from the hideout. The materials retrieved were found to be in a highly rusted condition, indicating that the hideout had been in use during the period of terrorist activity in the district, which was eradicated over two decades ago.
Among the recovered items, one of the IEDs weighed 1 kg, while the remaining seven weighed half a kg each. Additionally, three magazines of AK-47 rifles, 102 rounds of ammunition, one charger, and two wireless sets were seized from the location.
