Srinagar, June 12: The Jammu and Kashmir Police recovered Rs 7 lakh in terrorism proceeds from a house in village Allapeer in Poonch on Monday. Officials have stated that investigation is underway.
SSP Poonch,Vinay Sharma told Rising Kashmir that they have recovered Rs 7 lakh amount from a residential house in Allah Peer village of Poonch.
“During the investigation of a case, a FIR has been registered at PS Poonch, and during the sustained questioning, the accused Mohd Safee revealed that the cash amounting to Rs 7 lakhs, which is the proceeds of terrorism, was hidden in his house at Allah Peer,” he said.
“The investigation is underway in the case,” SSP added.
According to a police spokesman, IO Mohd Shafiq, DySp Dar Poonch, along with the Police Party and Executive Magistrate Ist Class Poonch, recovered Rs 7 lakhs after identifying a location in his house at Allapeer Poonch.
He stated that the cash is believed to be terrorist proceeds, and that the case is being investigated. The recovery was carried out under the overall supervision of SSP Poonch, the spokesman said.
