Srinagar, Oct 07: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President and Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr Farooq Abdullah on Saturday presided over a meeting of the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Telecom Advisory committee meeting. MP Anantnag Justice (Retd) Hasnain Masoodi was also present.
The MPs assured full support and their intervention in getting the needful done for removing the administrative bottlenecks from the J&K government by using their good offices.
On the occasion, Dr Farooq echoed the woes of the consumers and impressed upon the department to ensure efficacy in their outreach.
“The public sector undertaking lags behind in terms of its reach-out and quality of service. On the contrary, the market share of the private telecom companies is increasing day by day, their services are better and their reach and service is far ahead of BSNL,” he said, adding, “The subscriber base of these private players is also far ahead of BSNL. Unfortunately, BSNL had not been able to catch up with these private players.”
Meanwhile, according to a statement issued by NC, Dr Farooq on Saturday visited Gogji Bagh Srinagar to express condolence with noted businessman Haji Mehraj Ud Din Gani ( Bedaba) on the demise of his wife.
The MP was accompanied by Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, senior leader Mubarak Gul, and Women’s Wing Provincial President Er Sabiya Qadri on the occasion.
Joined by the party functionaries, the NC chief offered fatiha for peace to the deceased and prayed for the fortitude to the bereaved family. He also expressed profound sympathies & condolences to the entire Gani household on the occasion.
