Tata Pani to Be Developed as Wellness Tourism Destination: Sajjad

Banihal, May 11: National Conference leader and MLA Banihal, Sajjad Shaheen on Monday said Tata Pani in Banihal-Gool constituency will be developed as a health and wellness tourism destination to harness its natural potential and boost local employment opportunities.
The MLA laid the foundation stone for the ₹2.5 crore Tata Pani Bath Ghat project and also inaugurated a newly constructed High School building at Sumar built at a cost of ₹3.52 crore.
Addressing the gathering, Shaheen said focused efforts were underway to strengthen infrastructure and ensure balanced development across the constituency, particularly in far-flung areas.
He said the natural hot water springs at Tata Pani are known for their therapeutic significance and can emerge as a major attraction for wellness tourism in the region. He added that the Bath Ghat project would improve public facilities and create livelihood opportunities for local residents through tourism-related activities.
While inaugurating the school building, the MLA said improving educational infrastructure remained a key priority and highlighted initiatives such as installation of digital smart boards in Higher Secondary and High Schools across the constituency.
Shaheen said the government is committed to strengthening road connectivity, healthcare, education and tourism infrastructure in Banihal-Gool and assured that developmental benefits would reach every area of the constituency.
Several officers, local residents and party functionaries attended the programme.
