Ganderbal, Sept 14: In alignment with the national drive towards cleanliness, the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign-2024 was officially inaugurated on 14th September 2024 at Unit Headquarters, 118 Battalion Gund, District Ganderbal, Jammu & Kashmir. The event was spearheaded by S.S. Yadav, Commandant of the 118 Bn, with participation from battalion personnel, local dignitaries, and students from Shahe Hamdan Public School, Gund.
The event began with the administration of the Swachhata Pledge by S.S. Yadav, reiterating the significance of cleanliness and individual responsibility. The pledge highlighted the need to maintain public spaces and foster sustainable habits for a cleaner, greener India.
Following the pledge, a Swachhata Rally was organized, starting from the 118 Bn headquarters and proceeding through the Gund market. Participants held banners and placards with motivating slogans to raise awareness about hygiene and cleanliness.
The campaign, which aims to promote a cleaner, healthier environment, marks the beginning of a series of activities leading up to its culmination on Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October 2024, in alignment with the ideals of the Swachh Bharat Mission.
