Suspended doctors Friday said the staff at PHC Ashtingoo was not absent but had left the station as per the roster while few of them were on immunization duty in a nearby village.
The staff said they have been victimized for no sin of theirs. “We were on duty, some of our colleagues went home after night duty,” they alleged.
Doctors said they perform non-stop duty for 36 hours at a stretch and then take a day off.
The doctors said the BMO had not visited the PHC but some junior grade clerical staff had visited the PHC and provided the wrong information while the BMO office despite having a copy of the roster suspended them.
Meanwhile, Block Medical Officer said 11 doctors and 26 paramedic staff have been put on notice. He said he has launched the campaign to ensure punctuality of staff.
He said he has formed a five-member committee that shall review each suspension case. “If someone had night shift or off as per rooster, he shall not be suspended while strict action shall be taken against others who are found guilty”.
Dr Masarat said he has developed a mobile app that ensures real time geo-tagged attendance as they found biometric devices altered at many places by the employees.
According to the duty roster, Zonal Medical Officer Dr Saboor Sikandar was on night shift on 14th March and left the station on 15th as per the schedule but was put under suspension.
Similarly Gh Nabi Sheikh, a sweeper was also put under suspension for remaining absent. However, according to the duty roster he takes two days off after spending five days and nights in the PHC.
Doctors said despite doing extra hours duty, they are facing such inhumane behavior.
Meanwhile, Director Health services Kashmir, Mushtaq Ahmad Rather told Rising Kashmir that he will look into the matter.
