The Supreme Court on Monday issued notice on petitions filed by the National Testing Agency (NTA) relating to NEET-UG 2024 exam seeking transfer of cases pending before the Rajasthan High Court to the top court.

A bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra issued notice to the petitioners before the High Court and tagged the transfer petitions with the pending matters in the issue.

The top court, in its order, said, “Issue notice and tag.”

A batch of petitions was filed before the High Court challenging the NEET examination. The NTA has now moved to the Supreme Court, seeking the transfer of the petitions to the top court so that they can be heard along with the pending petitions here.

The apex court is seized of a batch of pleas seeking direction to recall NEET-UG 2024 results and to conduct the examination afresh, alleging paper leakage and malpractices in the test held.

Aspirants had approached the top court and raised the issue of leakage of the question paper, awarding compensatory marks and anomaly in the questions of the NEET-UG.

NEET-UG examination, conducted by NTA, is the pathway for admissions into MBBS, BDS and AYUSH and other related courses in government and private institutions across the country.

The NEET-UG, 2024 was held across 4,750 centres on May 5 and around 24 lakh candidates appeared in it.(ANI)
