Jammu, Jan 11: In a significant development, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired a high-level meeting today with senior officers, Deputy Commissioners, and SSPs to address various issues related to development and security in the Jammu Division.
The meeting placed a strong emphasis on the necessity of formulating a comprehensive strategy to crackdown on drug smugglers, eliminate drug hot-spots, and curb cross-border smuggling activities. Lieutenant Governor Sinha highlighted the importance of tackling this menace to ensure the safety and well-being of the region.
During the discussions, an appraisal was conducted on the status of key infrastructure projects, with a focus on the steps taken by District Administrations to facilitate industries. The meeting also reviewed the saturation of government schemes, implementation progress of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme, and efforts to promote tourism in the region.
Lieutenant Governor Sinha directed the district administrations to ensure the saturation of schemes in all border villages. He stressed the need to connect the youth of all Panchayats to self-employment and entrepreneurship opportunities, fostering economic growth at the grassroots level.
In addition, the Lieutenant Governor instructed officials to prepare regular outcome reports for initiatives such as Block Diwas, Thana Diwas, and other Jan-Abhiyan programmes. He underscored that the quality disposal of grievances and effective delivery of public services should be the top priorities for the administration at all levels.
