Jammu, Feb 27: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Working President Raman Bhalla on Tuesday urged the Congress leaders to continue taking steps in the direction to strengthen the party at the grassroots level.
Bhalla chaired a crucial meeting with prominent office bearers from RS Pura, Jammu South, and Bahu constituencies. The gathering, held on Tuesday, served as a platform to deliberate on the poll strategy ahead of the forthcoming parliamentary elections.
During the meeting, Bhalla engaged with district Congress leaders, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the party at the grassroots level. He underscored the necessity of addressing the genuine concerns of the public and urged leaders to raise awareness about the BJP’s alleged divisive policies and failures in governance.
He engaged in extensive discussions with district Congress leaders, articulating their concerns and charting out a roadmap for the party’s electoral endeavours. Among the notable attendees were JKPCC Vice President Yogesh Sawhney, District President Manmohan Singh Pinka, and CWC Member Neeraj Kundan, along with several other esteemed party members and office bearers.
Addressing the assembly, Bhalla underscored the imperative of fortifying the party’s grassroots presence and reiterated the commitment to address the genuine needs of the public transparently. He condemned the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its “divisive policies” and accused the ruling government of failing to address the economic crisis gripping the nation, particularly neglecting the welfare of the middle class and impoverished sections of society.
Furthermore, the Congress leader took a swipe at the BJP, alleging a series of betrayals and failures on multiple fronts, ranging from the economy to communal harmony and national security. He contended that the Congress’s unwavering efforts have propelled Jammu and Kashmir towards development and prosperity, contrasting sharply with the BJP’s shortcomings.
The meeting served as a platform to galvanize support against the BJP, with Bhalla asserting that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are increasingly gravitating towards the Congress as a viable alternative. He highlighted the BJP’s purported apprehensions in the region and stressed the populace’s readiness to reject the incumbent government’s misrule.
In a bid to inspire confidence among voters, the JKPCC leader pledged comprehensive development for Jammu and Kashmir devoid of any religious or regional bias, underscoring the Congress’s commitment to social justice and economic equality. He lamented the lack of accountability in governance, particularly concerning the youth’s dwindling employment prospects, while cautioning against divisive forces seeking to undermine the region’s secular values.
Bhalla said the Congress is the beacon of hope for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, vowing to uphold their aspirations and usher in a new era of progress and prosperity if entrusted with power in the union territory.
Appreciating the people of Jammu for building rich secular values, Raman said they should be cautious against all those forces who have no contribution to its development but play petty politics for their personal gains.
