Jammu, July 06: State Taxes Department (STD) on Thursday hosted a deliberation session on the topic ‘Best Practices Adopted in GST implementation’ as part of the ongoing GST Week celebrations. The session was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Appeals, Shazia Kouser and witnessed an active participation of State Tax Officers. The session showcased a collective commitment towards enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of GST implementation in Jammu and Kashmir.
The session aimed to foster knowledge sharing and exchange of experience among the state tax officers, creating a platform for dialogue on the best practices that have been successful in GST administration. Throughout the session, State Taxes Officers presented case studies, success stories, highlighting unique approaches adopted in their respective circles.
State Tax officer, Arvind Sawhney, during the session made an important observation of tracing fake GST registrations by tracking units seeking registration for at least six months after GSTIN is issued. To keep a check on fake registration State taxes officer Neeraj Sharma opined that there should be application fee for seeking GST registration.
During the deliberations, all State tax officers were actively engaged in lively discussions sharing insights, challenges and solutions to further improve the implementation of GST in the state. The officers of State Taxes department on the occasion expressed their gratitude to Commissioner State Taxes, Rashmi Singh for her leadership in organizing this successful deliberation session as well as Additional Commissioner State Taxes, Namrita Dogra for the invaluable guidance in conducting this session.
