Jammu, June 06: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former deputy chief minister Kavinder Gupta on Thursday called upon the party cadre to intensify efforts and concentrate on the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
As per a statement issued here, Gupta addressed a gathering after felicitating the newly elected Member of Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma, who won the Jammu seat with an impressive margin.
Kavinder said, “After the phenomenal performance in the Lok Sabha polls, the time has come to focus on upcoming assembly polls as the announcement of its schedule is on the cards and the Election Commission can declare the dates anytime.”
He called upon the party workers to engage with the public, understand their concerns, and communicate the party’s vision and achievements. “The BJP cadre should set the target of making the government on its own and for that hard work and dedication of the workers are prerequisites. We have a significant opportunity to bring about meaningful change and development in Jammu and Kashmir, and this can only be achieved through a concerted and focused effort,” he said, highlighting the party’s commitment to the welfare and progress of the people.
The former deputy CM said the BJP has always stood for the upliftment and empowerment of the people. From infrastructural development to ensuring security and enhancing tourism, the party has taken numerous steps to improve the lives of people in the UT, he said, adding that it is crucial that the party cadre reaches out to every citizen, listen to their issues and assure about party’s commitment to resolving them all.
Gupta said that the saffron party’s grassroots presence and connection with the people will be the key to its success in the upcoming elections.
“Time has come to channelise energy, enthusiasm and dedication towards ensuring a decisive victory in the assembly polls, mobilise resources and form strategies to get a strong mandate from the people of the UT,” he added.
