Jammu, June 05: Government Polytechnic for Women Jammu Wednesday organized a Standard Writing Competition in collaboration with Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), JKBO, Bari Brahmana. The event was held under the guidance of the Principal Er. Suket Gupta.
As many as 47 students from the E & C and Computer department participated in the Standard Writing Competition. The Resource person from BIS Jammu, Dr. Rhythm Basson, informed the students about the motive of the event and importance of Quality of products in daily life. She also informed them how to check the authenticity of items by checking license details on the BIS Care app.
Er. Ankita Gupta, BIS Mentor GPWJ apprised the participants about the rules and regulations for writing the standards. Anandi Singh (2nd Sem computer) bagged 1st prize, AnushokaAmbardar (4th Sem E&C) bagged 2nd prize, Saher (2nd Sem Computer) got 3rd prize and Palak Devi (4th Sem E&C) was given the Consolation prize. These cash prizes were handed over to the winners by Principal, GPWJ along with the BIS team
To conclude, the vote of thanks was presented by the BIS mentor, GPWJ to the BIS team.
