Srinagar’s Polo View Market has been a popular destination for decades, attracting both locals and visitors. Recently, the market underwent a Smart City makeover, transforming into a pedestrian’s paradise.
As the city’s first wire-free, comprehensive pedestrian market, the Polo View Market has become a popular destination for locals. The entire city is undergoing a massive revamp, with shops, restaurants, and cafes surrounding the pedestrian-only lanes. The streets are now clean and well-lit, and the lack of wires and cables adds to the area’s aesthetic appeal.
According to SMC Commissioner Athar Amir Khan, Polo View Market is Srinagar’s first completely pedestrian and wire-free market. It has universal access, separate underground sewerage and drainage networks, underground electricity and communication lines, facade improvements of buildings, and public convenience facilities.
Smart City officials are currently working on a comprehensive overhaul of the entire city. Once completed, Srinagar is expected to become a fascinating destination for tourists from all over the country. Pictures of the Polo View Market have gone viral on the internet, and people are pleased to see how far the city has come.
The Smart City project in Srinagar has built a modern, dynamic space that appeals to individuals from all walks of life. In addition to the Polo View Market, many other locations in Srinagar have undergone substantial renovations. The city has become cleaner, more organized, and easier to navigate, making it an excellent place to live, work, and visit.
The transformation of the Polo View Market is just one example of the great things that are happening in Srinagar. With the city’s Smart City project in full swing, there are sure to be many more exciting developments in the near future.
